Our History
Amazing Grace Church, Inc. (AGCI) was established in response to the call of God upon the lives of Pastors Leonard & Mary Green. The couple’s pastoral ministry began as they were obedient to the Lord’s leading to assist the late Bishop Jean Williams in ministry. In 2002, the couple began assisting with the operation of her food pantry where in addition to the distribution of food, the Word of God was taught and many people were impacted by the life-changing message of the gospel of the Kingdom of God. Today, the pantry now serves four locations.
As a result of the diverse needs of the community, the Resource Advocacy Outreach was established.
In 2003, the church began the Metro Kidz Sidewalk Sunday School and within one year it began ministering to over 500 children on a weekly basis. In 2006, Pastors Leonard & Mary Green were led of the Lord to begin Operation Go! On Sundays members were charged for ministry. Every Sunday, during the warm month’s ministry teams would go into the streets for Adopt-A-Block ministry. The phrase “Out of the Box and Into His Will” is used to describe the ministry of Amazing Grace Church, Inc. Our Adopt-A-Block outreach program was established to beautify blighted neighborhoods, develop affordable housing and provide home ownership opportunities.
AGCI continues from a legacy of over thirty years of ministry started by the late Bishop Jean Williams. Its strongest asset is in its dedicated and committed disciples trained to extend the heart of God to the heart of the city to restore relationships, families, and neighborhoods.
